It’s officially fall when the last of the state fairs have served their final Elephant Ear. From Deland, Florida to Saint Charles, Illinois to Dallas, Texas to Puyallup, Washington to Springfield, Massachusetts. The state fair still offers a view into small town America, city dwellers rarely see. So until next year, when we can get our fill of fried food, marvel at the baby piglets, win a life sized stuffed animal and ride the Zipper until we puke.
